Giveaway #81 Homeless family setting up a home

By December 18, 2023No Comments

Friends, here is news of our 81st donation, nominated by our member Sarah:

Lisa (name changed) had been homeless for several months with her 4 children, 2 of them severely disabled, staying in her older daughter’s tiny apartment. She had a run of bad luck and chose the welfare of her family over her relationship with a partner who had his own challenges, she’s a brilliant mum doing her best.

She fought for Educational Health Plans and succeeded in gaining placements at a special needs school for her younger children. She was supported through debt management and counselling and was offered a property within easy access of the children’s schools. Sadly a story we hear all too often is that she had to move into the property while it was in a very bad state of repair. She has some household items but most of her soft furnishings perished after the lean to they were being stored in suffered flooding.

Lisa has put in her Universal Credit claim but isn’t due a payment until after Christmas. They need a lot of large items but this donation has given them a head start on replacing lost items and moving costs.

Friends yet again you have helped a family in crisis, thank you.🥹…/emergency-services…/ar-AA1i0a36……/emergency-services…/ar-AA1i0a36…
